ASSISTANT COOK

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated cook to prepare high-quality meals in accordance with food health and safety regulations and company standards. The cook’s responsibilities include following instructions relating to the timely preparation of food orders, organizing workstations, and assisting other cooks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals under the guidance of the Head Cook or Chef to meet quality and safety standards
• Clean and sterilize food preparation areas to maintain hygiene and comply with safety regulations
• Assist other cooks to complete food orders accurately and on time
• Ensure cooking utensils are cleaned before each use to prevent contamination
• Resolve problems with customers’ orders efficiently to maintain satisfaction
• Collaborate with team members to support smooth and efficient kitchen operations
• You should also be able to ensure that the refrigerators and storerooms are kept clean and tidy.
• Follow food preparation and hygiene practices to ensure safe food handling
• Stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights to support kitchen activities

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a kitchen or food service environment
• Proven experience working as a Cook
• Ability to follow recipes accurately
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Effective communication skills
