Sales Lead (Marine Aftermarket)

We are seeking an experienced Sales Lead to drive the growth of marine aftermarket services, spare parts and lifecycle-support solutions.
The successful candidate will develop business with shipowners, ship managers, shipyards and vessel operators while leading the sales process from opportunity identification through contract award. This role requires strong marine-industry knowledge, commercial leadership and an established customer network.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the marine aftermarket sales strategy.
- Achieve revenue, margin and business-growth targets for spare parts and services.
- Identify opportunities involving maintenance, repairs, retrofits, upgrades and long-term service agreements.
- Build and maintain relationships with shipowners, ship managers, shipyards, vessel operators and other maritime customers.
- Manage key accounts and identify opportunities to increase customer value and recurring revenue.
- Lead the sales process from initial enquiry and technical evaluation through quotation, negotiation and closing.
- Prepare commercial proposals, tenders and service agreements.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms and contractual conditions.
- Work closely with Service, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and Finance teams.
- Review vessel operating profiles and recommend suitable aftermarket solutions.
- Monitor market developments, fleet activity, competitor offerings and customer requirements.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and prepare forecasts and management reports.
- Support regional distributors, agents and service partners where applicable.
- Improve customer satisfaction by ensuring timely communication and effective issue resolution.
- Represent the organisation at customer meetings, exhibitions and maritime-industry events.
- Guide and support members of the sales team when required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, Maritime Studies or a related discipline.
- At least five to eight years of marine aftermarket, technical sales or business-development experience.
- Strong understanding of marine spare parts, maintenance, repair, retrofit or lifecycle-support services.
- Experience working with marine engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems or other vessel equipment would be advantageous.
- Established relationships with shipowners, ship managers, shipyards or vessel operators.
- Proven record of achieving sales and profitability targets.
- Experience managing tenders, service agreements and complex commercial negotiations.
- Strong commercial judgement, customer-management and problem-solving skills.
- Able to interpret technical specifications and communicate solutions clearly.
- Experience leading a sales team or coordinating regional partners would be beneficial.
- Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Willingness to travel regularly for customer meetings and industry events.
