Role Overview
The successful candidate will lead the planning and scheduling function for major data center projects, programs, or portfolios across multiple regions and will be accountable for the overall quality, governance, integration, and effectiveness of project scheduling.
The Lead Scheduler will develop and implement the project planning and scheduling controls strategy, lead the scheduling team, act as the senior scheduling interface with client and project leadership, and provide strategic advice on schedule performance, risk, recovery, and delivery strategy.
The role is expected to set scheduling standards, establish governance, lead complex schedule analysis, manage escalations, and ensure consistent planning and scheduling practices across projects and regions portfolios.
Job Scope
• Develop and implement the overall project planning, scheduling, and schedule controls strategy.
• Establish scheduling governance, methodologies, reporting requirements, schedule structures, coding standards, and baseline management processes.
• Lead the development and approval of integrated master schedules covering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project close-out.
• Ensure activities, sequencing, durations, logic, interfaces, milestones, and dependencies are appropriately defined and validated.
• Lead critical path, float, milestone, dependency, and schedule performance analysis across projects and workstreams.
• Oversee progress tracking, schedule forecasting, executive reporting, and milestone performance.
• Own the identification and management of major schedule risks and delays, including mitigation planning and escalation.
• Lead complex “what-if” analyses, schedule simulations, scenario planning, and schedule impact assessments.
• Lead the development of recovery, acceleration, and mitigation strategies for projects experiencing significant schedule challenges.
• Provide senior review and challenge of contractor, supplier, and project team schedules.
• Ensure multiple contractor and workstream schedules are fully integrated into a robust overall program schedule.
• Act as the senior scheduling representative in client meetings, project steering committees, governance forums, and executive reviews.
• Advise project and client leadership on schedule strategy, delivery risks, sequencing options, procurement impacts, and schedule-related decisions.
• Lead schedule assurance and quality reviews, ensuring schedules meet agreed standards and project control requirements.
• Ensure alignment between scheduling, cost management, commercial management, risk management.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional qualification, in one of the following or a related discipline:
• Engineering
• Construction Management
• Project Management
• Quantity Surveying
• Architecture
• Planning or Project Controls
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant project scheduling, planning, or project controls experience.
• Extensive experience leading planning and scheduling activities on large, complex construction projects or programs.
• Demonstrated experience leading scheduling teams and providing strategic schedule advice to senior project and client stakeholders.
• Expert-level knowledge of critical path method scheduling, schedule integration, baseline management, schedule risk analysis, progress measurement, and recovery planning.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Oracle Primavera Cloud or equivalent enterprise scheduling tools.
• Strong experience reviewing and integrating contractor, supplier, and multi-project schedules.
• Strong ability to identify systemic schedule risks, challenge schedule assumptions, and recommend strategic mitigation or recovery actions.
• Strong senior stakeholder management, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and manage scheduling and project controls teams.
• Ability to establish scheduling governance, set standards, manage major escalations, and take accountability for the overall planning and scheduling function.
