Driver cum General Worker (AWWA SPED School @ Napiri)

Primary Objectives:
A school bus driver safely transports special needs students with physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities, ensuring their well-being, comfort, and compliance with all safety regulations.

• Ensure the safety and well-being of students during transportation.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Maintain a clean and well-maintained school bus.
• Assist with general maintenance and repair tasks around the school.

Key Responsibilities:

Driving Duties:

• Safely operate the school bus with wheelchair lifting.
• Plan and execute daily transportation routes efficiently.
• Ensure all students are properly seated and secured with seat belts.
• Monitor student behavior during transportation.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance.
• Report any accidents, damages, or maintenance issues promptly.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

General Worker Duties:

• Assist with general maintenance tasks, such as minor repairs, painting, and cleaning.
• Maintain cleanliness of the school bus interior and exterior.
• Assist with inventory management and disposal of old items.
• Support school events and activities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Education / Qualifications

• GCE O Level

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience driving a school bus or similar vehicle.
• Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
• Ability to lift heavy objects.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge/Skills

• Safety must be emphasized in every of the job, including student safety during transportation and adherence to safety protocols during maintenance tasks.
• A high level of flexibility to accommodate changing schedules and additional responsibilities is needed for this role.
• Must maintain a professional demeanor and providing excellent customer service to students, staff, and parents.
