Citadel International Equities is one of Citadel’s four equities businesses. International Equities is run out of London, with leadership and central operations teams in both Europe and Asia. Our investment teams seek to form a deep understanding of each company’s strategy, management team, drivers of performance and cyclical and secular industry trends before making an investment.

Equities Trader

Traders serve as the primary execution support and trading thought leader for investment teams. They add value to the investment process by sourcing critical information and market color and helping to inform investment decisions. They also work in a team environment that closely integrates trading, quantitative research, and technology. Additionally, traders are empowered to continue to improve upon processes and operational efficiencies.

Trading at Citadel is unique for two main reasons:

1. the ability to interact daily with some of the world's most talented equity-focused portfolio managers and analysts, and
2. a technological toolkit that provides traders with flexibility to meet the execution and coverage demands of the role.

Responsibilities / Requirements:

• Support various portfolio managers' efforts to identify and evaluate trading opportunities.
• Be a thought partner to the lead trader in discussing and executing trade strategies.
• Possess domain knowledge in India as it relates to market microstructure, local broker relationships, and ability to source/provide market color.
• Provide all maintenance for trades made by the PMs.
• Assist trading team in monitoring risk and staying within defined guidelines.
• Provide regular analytical and interpretive data as well as market intelligence.
• Demonstrate competency in data / numerical and technical analysis and strong problem-solving skills. Have superior analytical skills and quantitative rigor.
• Be comfortable working with large data sets using various tools, including Excel and other automated reporting tools.
• Work effectively with the technical IT team to operationalize the financial models. Will need to be hands-on in developing a working model, new tools, and infrastructure for the new group.
• Must be aggressive in terms of acquiring new methodologies to solve problems.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills.
• Be able to address various problems, including extremely time-sensitive problems, in a focused and efficient manner.
• Have market-facing skills; be capable of interactions that might include counterparties, electronic exchanges, and other Citadel teams.
• Show a passionate/energetic approach to work with self-motivation and personal commitment.
• Show dedication and work ethic especially through difficult circumstances, not giving up easily.
• Express initiative (self-starter) to take on additional work/volunteering for work beyond his/her scope of responsibilities.
