Industrial Designer

We are looking for a talented Industrial Designer with an engineering background to join our team. You will be part designer, part project manager, part engineer and part quality control specialist. Your job is to build things.

Thank you for your interest in joining our team here at mēkā. While we started out in 3D Printing, we've grown from our roots in the maker movement to take on more of a role in industry.

Ultimately, we strive to build our own great products that changes the world for the better.

We need people who are looking to work hard and push boundaries.

One of the most important attributes we look for in a colleague is curiosity. You must look at the world with a curious eye and look for problems to solve. And you must try to go solve them, even if they are out of reach. You must be willing to learn, fail and try again. A lot of our work is centered around exploration and a curious mind is a must. You must be comfortable working with foreign concepts that are very far out of your comfort zones. Let's say, nothing is beneath you. You will be tasked to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Your responsibilities include:

• Research - primary, secondary, user, client
• Run experiments to test assumptions
• Uncover real problems and map them to real solutions
• Confirm product specifications and design briefs
• Work with your team and execute - build, build build
• Deliver to the client and make them happy

You need to be well-versed in the design world. A background in any type of engineering would be an advantage.
