Procurement Specialist
About this job
The Procurement Specialist will manage end-to-end procurement activities for offshore drilling operations, including capital equipment, rig equipment, spare parts, operational materials and technical services. The role coordinates closely with offshore rigs, internal stakeholders, suppliers to ensure purchases meet technical, commercial, quality, delivery and budget requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage sourcing and procurement activities from purchase requisition through final delivery.
- Review and clarify technical specifications and operational requirements with rig personnel and internal stakeholders.
- Source, assess and qualify suitable suppliers.
- Obtain and evaluate competitive quotations based on total cost, quality, technical compliance and delivery schedule.
- Negotiate pricing, contractual terms, warranties and delivery conditions.
- Prepare, issue and administer purchase orders and purchasing agreements.
- Monitor and expedite outstanding orders to prevent operational delays.
- Coordinate with suppliers, export packers and freight forwarders on shipping and export documentation.
- Support supplier evaluation, audits, cost control and supply-chain risk management.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with Company policies and approval procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to junior procurement team members when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration or a related discipline from one of Singapore’s autonomous universities or another recognised institution.
- Minimum five years of relevant professional procurement experience, preferably in offshore drilling, oil and gas, marine or energy operations.
- Strong knowledge of offshore drilling rigs, rig equipment, spare parts and associated technical requirements.
- Proven experience procuring high-value equipment, operational materials and technical services.
- Procurement experience within a multinational corporation is strongly preferred.
- Strong sourcing, commercial evaluation, contract administration and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in procurement systems; experience with AMOS or SAP is preferred.
- Strong commercial awareness, analytical ability, attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Able to manage multiple urgent priorities, work independently and collaborate effectively in a multicultural environment.
