KeyResponsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule drivers and crew members for REL routes, ensuring full manpower coverage and timely execution of daily operations.
- Proactively adjust, reassign, and deploy manpower at all times to accommodate changes in route schedules, operational requirements, manpower shortages, leave arrangements, emergencies, or any unexpected operational issues. The Operations Executive is expected to respond promptly and take necessary action to ensure smooth and uninterrupted daily operations.
- Plan and manage drivers’ and crew members’ leave schedules to ensure sufficient coverage while complying with company policies and labour regulations.
- Conduct regular spot checks on vehicles to ensure compliance with cleanliness, safety, and operational standards, including visual and functional checks of vehicle condition, safety equipment, and maintenance issues.
- Report vehicle defects, safety concerns, or maintenance issues and follow up to ensure timely rectification.
- Conduct monthly/pre-shift toolbox meetings and risk assessment briefings for drivers and crew. Cover route-specific hazards, safe work practices, equipment handling, and relevant safety requirements.
- Address and resolve complaints, feedback, and operational issues raised by drivers, crew members, customers, clients, government agencies, and other relevant parties professionally and promptly. Escalate matters to management where necessary and ensure proper follow-up until resolution.
- Investigate vehicle breakdowns, and operational issues involving the company fleet. Gather relevant information, identify possible root causes, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Provide temporary coverage for the Controller role during periods of absence, including scheduling, manpower coordination, and related administrative duties.
- Conduct regular inspections of fleet equipment, including hooklift trucks, compactors, and other company vehicles/equipment, ensuring they are operational, properly maintained, and compliant with company and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and update fleet and equipment records, including inspection schedules, maintenance status, and other relevant information.
- Prepare and submit monthly waste reports and other operational reports as required by clients, management, or relevant parties, ensuring that information provided is accurate and submitted within the required timeline.
- Liaise and communicate with government agencies and regulatory authorities, including relevant agencies such as NEA and other authorities, on operational, inspection, compliance, reporting, and related matters when required.
- Prepare and submit required vehicle and equipment inspection reports through the National Environment Agency (NEA) portal.
- Monitor daily operations and respond to operational problems or emergencies promptly, coordinating with drivers, crew members, clients, contractors, management, and relevant parties to minimise service disruption.
- Ensure proper handover and communication of operational matters between shifts, departments, and relevant personnel to maintain continuity of operations.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in fleet coordination, transport operations, waste management, logistics, or a similar operational environment will be an advantage.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple operational matters effectively.
- Comfortable working with drivers, crew members, customers, and management.
- Basic computer and administrative skills.
- Possession of a valid Class 4 Singapore driving licence will be an advantage.
- Able to work in a fast-paced operational environment and respond to urgent manpower or fleet requirements when necessary.
