Job Summary

You will lead risk assessment and safety management initiatives at project sites, ensuring compliance with environmental and workplace safety standards. Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to uphold a robust safety culture and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments at project sites and recommend actionable measures to mitigate risks to personnel and operations
  • Monitor and verify adherence to the Environmental Management Plan (EMP), initiating corrective actions when deviations occur
  • Maintain accurate records of environmental activities and incidents on site, and enforce compliance through issuing spot fines for EMP violations
  • Lead and facilitate toolbox meetings to communicate safety protocols and ensure the permit to work system is effectively implemented
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to develop and sustain a strong safety regime aligned with the Company’s QEHS Management System and regulatory requirements under the WSH Act
  • Liaise proactively with Project Managers to address workplace safety, health, and environmental issues, ensuring high safety standards at all sites
  • Lead safety programs by advising teams on best practices and regulatory compliance
  • Review and maintain comprehensive Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) records to support audit and compliance activities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support safety and environmental objectives

Required competencies and certifications

  • Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer and Environmental Control Officer with a minimum of five years of post-registration practical experience relevant to contract scope
  • Certificate in WSH Coordinator Course, Building Construction Supervisors Safety Course, or other relevant safety certifications from approved institutions

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Experience in building construction projects within the local context
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage and influence diverse teams
  • Availability for immediate onboarding or short notice period
