Role Overview

Sia is building a regional pool of contract compliance professionals to strengthen its sanctions program. This is an L3 individual-contributor role within Financial Crime Compliance (FCC), accountable for putting the firm’s sanctions policy into practice across both the business units that own risk day to day and the oversight function that monitors them.

Location: Remote/Hybrid

Open to candidates based in China, Hong Kong, Australia, India, Dubai,and other locations across the wider APAC and MEA region, as the work cuts across all these locations.

Responsibility:

-Support consistent execution of the firm’s sanctions policy across both the business units that own risk and the compliance function that oversees them.

-Anticipate regulatory shifts and build risk-calibrated controls and workflows that keep the organization ahead of new and evolving sanctions regimes.

-Track evolving sanctions and anti-money-laundering requirements worldwide, and adjust internal controls whenever the regulatory landscape changes.

-Work through escalated customer and transaction alerts flagged as possible sanctions-list hits, closing each case within agreed turnaround times.

-Serve as the go-to resource for sanctions-related questions raised by client-facing,commercial, and operational teams.

-Author and maintain the policies and procedures that govern the sanctions program.

-Build and deliver targeted sanctions training for business-side colleagues who need it.

-Partner with the risk assessment function to inform and refine the sanctions risk assessment.

-Take on one-off due-diligence assignments arising from day-to-day administration of the sanctions program.

-Support the organization’s response to regulatory exams, inquiries, and internal audits, including managing document collection and production.

-Track and communicate metrics and other reporting that give leadership visibility into sanctions compliance activity.

Requirements:

-At least five years in a comparable compliance role, ideally at a complex financial institution, fintech or payments business.

-Solid grasp of the regulations, rules, and accepted industry practices governing economic sanctions.

-Hands-on experience configuring customer and transaction screening tools and running the alert-review process that follows.

-Solid project-management fundamentals.

-Comfortable evaluating a broad range of complex commercial transactions.

-A self-directed operator who can work independently while plugging into a larger global effort.

-Sharp analytical instincts, with a track record of turning problems into workable recommendations.
