QC LAB CHEMIST

Job Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with Senior chemist to lead a team of lab analysts and technicians in executing daily laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and quality system.

2. Develop and validate analytical methods for the testing of chemical compounds, ensuring accuracy, precision, and reliability. Identify and drive initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and productivity.

3. Manage laboratory inventory and equipment, including consumables/spare-parts, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance planning to meet quality and operational requirements. Ensure analytical tools are in proper maintained and functional for accurate testing and analysis.

4. Provide support in new product development (R&D), analytical metrology, and quality assurance for all products. Offer product expertise, technical support for new developments, and address technical emergencies.

5. Collaborate with other departments on continuous improvement projects to achieve overall business objectives.

6. Perform Quality Control (QC) responsibilities, including conducting quality tests, inspections, and analyses to ensure product integrity and compliance with relevant standards and specifications.

7. Investigate deviations, out-of-specification results, and quality-related issues. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) as necessary.

8. Serve as quality master to ensure product quality meets customer’s requirements.

9. Maintain and update QC quality database in a timely manner. Assist in quality related decisions by applying relevant technical knowledge.

Job Requirements:

1. Master's Degree in Chemistry with 2 – 3 years of relevant working experience in QC lab or a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry with 5 – 6 years of relevant working experience.

2. Experience or significant exposure to the specialty chemicals or semiconductor wafer fab supplier environment is an added advantage.

3. Strong hands-on instrumentation experience such as ICP/MS, GC/MS, UV-Vis, GC/FID/TCD, IC, HPLC, ICP/OES, NIR, and other measurement tools.

4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in bilingual languages (English and Mandarin) to effectively liaise with English and Mandarin-speaking associates/clients.

5. Hardworking, able to multi-task, and willing to work extended hours when necessary.

6. Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a high sense of ownership and responsibility in achieving project and business objectives.

7. Able to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks effectively, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

8. Proactive in driving improvement to enhance productivity and efficiency, including through automation.
