Position summary:

This role is responsible for managing infrastructureprojects and systems administration activities from planning and implementationthrough to operational handover. Ensures projects are delivered on time and inaccordance with established methodologies and business requirements.Maintaining the availability, performance, and security of production systems,ensuring infrastructure services effectively support business operations.Performs system administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and remediation ofincidents to minimise service disruptions.

Manages system uptime, backup and recovery processes,software licensing, and compliance with security and operational standards.Participates in standby and on-call support, including nights, weekends, andpublic holidays, to respond to critical incidents. While workingcollaboratively with cross-functional teams while leveraging strong technicalexpertise in virtualization, storage, backup solutions, networking, andenterprise infrastructure platforms. Demonstrates strong analytical,problem-solving, and communication skills to resolve issues, drive continuousimprovements, and maintain high service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Delivery

  • Lead and manage infrastructure projects from inception to completion, ensuring project deliverables are met within agreed timelines, scope, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, engineers, and operational teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop implementation plans, technical documentation, operational procedures, and handover materials.
  • Conduct system testing, validation, and acceptance activities prior to project go-live.
  • Ensure smooth transition and knowledge transfer to the operations team upon project completion.

Operations & Support

  • Maintain and support day-to-day infrastructure operations to ensure system availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution for infrastructure-related issues.
  • Implement preventive maintenance activities and continuous service improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, security policies, and best practices.

Virtualization Platforms

  • Design, implement, administer, and optimize enterprise virtualization environments.
  • Manage virtual machines, clusters, resource allocation, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and infrastructure upgrades.

Storage & NAS Solutions

  • Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise storage systems and Network Attached Storage (NAS) platforms.
  • Manage storage provisioning, capacity planning, performance monitoring, and storage optimization.
  • Ensure data availability, integrity, and redundancy through appropriate storage architecture and best practices.

Backup & Recovery Solutions

  • Design and maintain enterprise backup architectures and data protection strategies.
  • Implement backup, restoration, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
  • Monitor backup success rates, troubleshoot failures, and ensure compliance with recovery objectives (RPO/RTO).
  • Periodically perform backup restoration testing and disaster recovery exercises.

Teamwork & Collaboration

  • Work effectively both independently and within teams to deliver project and operational objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, business users, vendors, and technology partners.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to team members when required.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 - 10 years’ experience in design, developing, implementing, automates, project management and maintaining IT systems
  • Relevant vendor-specific certifications (e.g. Microsoft, Oracle, RedHat, Nutanix, VMware, Dell, Veritas, etc)
  • Relevant experience on design, setup, maintain or managed Virtualization, Storage, NAS would be a plus
  • ITIL Foundation Certification

  • Enterprise Storage Technologies (SAN, NAS, Unified Storage Solutions).
  • Backup and Recovery Solutions (e.g., Commvault, Veeam, Veritas NetBackup, Rubrik).
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning.
  • Infrastructure Monitoring, Capacity Planning, and Performance Optimization.
  • Windows and Linux Server Administration.
  • Network and Data Centre Infrastructure Fundamentals.
  • 1 year contract role
