Senior Expansion Associate (Senior / Associate)

About the Role

Mobi is building payments infrastructure across Southeast Asia. As a Senior Expansion Associate, you'll work directly with the Head of Expansion to help stand up new corridors across the region.

This is an expansion role: depending on the priority, you may be conducting research related to a new market, reaching out to the hosts available,comparing/sourcing for legal advisory or consultant quotes or coordinating a partner from first conversation towards live across teams. You take unstructured inputs and turn them into clear, decision-ready recommendations. This particular seat leans toward the regulatory and market-groundwork, for the expansion team, working with our entity-setup / internal and external counsel and any other cross-stakeholders.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Conduct market, competitor, and host research to evaluate new opportunities.

• Support partner sourcing, evaluation, onboarding, and activation across new markets.

• Coordinate regulatory, licensing, and entity-setup workstreams with internal and external stakeholders.

• Compare and structure inputs such as legal opinions,consultant proposals, commercial terms, and market assessments into clear, decision-ready recommendations.

• Work with Legal & Compliance, Finance, Product, external counsel, and other relevant teams to drive market-entry initiatives.

• Coordinate contracts, documentation, and operational readiness activities while tracking multiple workstreams and stakeholder dependencies.

• Support the Head of Expansion on strategic projects,identifying risks, blockers, and opportunities as they arise.

What We're Looking For:

• 2-6 years of experience in market-entry, regulatory, or partnerships/BD, analyst or consulting backgrounds.

• Structured: takes unstructured inputs (data, quotes,frameworks) and turns them into decision ready recommendations.

• Problem solver: Naturally curious and resourceful, with the ability to independently research topics and solve problems.

• Comfortable operating in fast-changing environments.

• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Payments, fintech, or Southeast Asia market experience is preferred; hunger, adaptability and problem solving are non-negotiable.

• Opportunity to travel occasionally when required
