Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)

Job Description

• Provide advice and consultation to maintain a safe working environment in compliance with environmental safety regulations, standards and practices.
• Attend the site safety audit conducted by Authority and Client’s representative- HDB
• Conducts job hazard analysis to determine safe working practices and engineering controls.
• Implementation of workplace safety, health and environment programs, effective safety management system, preventive measures as well as risk assessment to minimize accidents at the assigned workplace/site
• Compile all safety record and reports, and ensure proper documentation of site records for all safety related matters
• Enforcement of safety standards in accordance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act
• Ensure strict compliance of procedures in statutory workplace, safety, health & environment requirements at sites and required premises
• Preparation and/or submission of safety reports and necessary audits
• Assist the company in safety related certifications and awareness such as safety audits, meetings, and execution of safety programmes
• Perform construction site safety, inspection of site to ensure all facilities and equipment relevant to the maintenance are in proper working condition and do not pose any hazard
• Any other ad hoc duties assigned from time to time

Requirements

• Candidates must process at least Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering / Building & Construction or its equivalent.
• Registered as a Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) for at least 3 years.
• Candidates with ECO & ECMO license will have an added advantage.
• Experience in 3 - 4years in General Building and Civil Engineering Works, A&A and Upgrading Work in Construction sector
• Experienced in ISO related documentation and audits
