About the Role

On behalf of a confidential client in the pharmaceutical / life sciences sector, P-Con Management is seeking a Research Scientist to join a protein and molecular biochemistry research function. This is a secondment placement: you will be employed under P-Con's payroll and deployed to work on-site (or in a hybrid arrangement, per client requirements) with our client's research team.

This role suits a scientist with hands-on experience in protein-level laboratory work who is comfortable operating within a regulated, quality-conscious research environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, execute and interpret experiments involving protein expression, purification and characterization

• Develop and optimize biochemical and biophysical assays to support research and discovery-stage projects

• Investigate enzyme kinetics, protein-protein or protein-ligand interactions as required by project scope

• Maintain accurate, audit-ready laboratory records and contribute to technical reports and study summaries

• Troubleshoot experimental and instrumentation issues, and propose process improvements

• Collaborate cross-functionally with other research, quality and technical staff on the client's team

• Adhere to the client's laboratory safety, quality and (where applicable) GxP/regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or a related life sciences discipline

• Approximately 2–5 years of relevant hands-on laboratory research experience (post-degree)

• Demonstrated experience with protein expression, purification, and/or assay development techniques (e.g. chromatography, SDS-PAGE/Western blot, ELISA, or similar)

• Strong experimental design, data analysis and technical writing skills

• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a cross-functional research team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enzymology, biophysical characterization methods (e.g. SPR, ITC, DSC), or structural biology techniques

• Prior experience in a GMP, GLP, or otherwise regulated laboratory environment

• Familiarity with electronic lab notebooks (ELN) and laboratory information management systems (LIMS)

• Publication record or prior industry project ownership is an advantage, though not required

• Employed under P-Con Management's payroll for the duration of the engagement, seconded to the client's research site in Singapore

• Contract duration: 2 years
