About this job

Our client, a leading international bank, is looking to appoint an Assistant Vice President, Credit Risk to support the management of its corporate credit portfolio.

The role will focus on independent credit assessment, risk management and portfolio oversight, working closely with front-office teams while maintaining an independent risk perspective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently assess and approve corporate credit proposals within delegated authority.
  • Review new transactions, annual reviews, amendments and other credit requests.
  • Evaluate financial strength, business fundamentals, industry risks and overall creditworthiness.
  • Challenge proposed transaction structures, risk assumptions and credit mitigants where appropriate.
  • Monitor portfolio quality, credit concentrations, risk ratings and emerging risks.
  • Identify potential deterioration in credit quality and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures.
  • Ensure adherence to the bank's credit policies, risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide constructive credit guidance to Relationship Managers and business teams.
  • Participate in portfolio reviews, stress testing and other credit risk initiatives.
  • Work closely with senior Credit Risk stakeholders on complex or higher-risk exposures.

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
  • 5–8 years of relevant credit risk, corporate credit or credit underwriting experience within a bank.
  • Strong understanding of corporate credit assessment and lending structures.
  • Experience covering large corporate or institutional clients preferred.
  • Good knowledge of financial analysis, credit risk frameworks and risk mitigation techniques.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and constructively challenge business proposals.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
