Tender Manager/Senior Manager (A1 building Construction)

Our client, a reputable main contractor in the building construction industry, is seeking an experienced Tender Manager/Senior Manager to join their Commercial team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with strong cost economics knowledge and a proven track record in tender management, who can lead a team while ensuring proposals are technically sound, competitive, and aligned with client requirements. Candidates from A1-graded main contractor backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Tender Management

• Monitor tenders to ensure alignment with company requirements

• Prepare tender clarifications and respond to post-submission queries

• Coordinate tender reviews and deadlines, adjusting to developer frameworks as needed

• Ensure pre-qualification and tender submissions meet client requirements, with adequate resources allocated

Technical & Commercial Coordination

• Review enquiries in full, ensuring technical and contractual requirements are addressed

• Arrange technical and commercial meetings as required

• Coordinate proposal preparation, ensuring alignment with client requirements or appropriate qualifications

• Ensure proposals are technically sound and innovative, fully meeting client needs or agreeing alternative solutions prior to submission

Cost & Pricing

• Contribute to cost and price calculations

• Prepare pricing, including resource costing, verification of resource needs, and timelines for lump sum elements

• Apply strong cost economics knowledge across tender activities

Team Leadership

• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

• Minimum 10 years in building construction industry, preferably from A1 grade main contractor firm.

• Solid understanding of cost economics

• Proven leadership and team support capabilities
