About the Role
The MSI Engineer is responsible for driving solution coordination, requirements management, stakeholder engagement and integration governance for Smart Building, IBMS, Digital Platform. The role acts as the primary bridge between Clients, Internal departments and third-party vendors to ensure project requirements are translated into successful and integrated solutions. MSI is not responsible for software development or system implementation. Instead, MSI ensures that all solution components are aligned, integrated and accepted by the customer.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements Management
- Conduct customer workshops to understand operational and business requirements.
- Develop and maintain Software Requirement Specifications (SRS), use cases and functional requirements.
- Manage requirement traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure stakeholder requirements are clearly communicated to delivery teams.
2. Solution Governance
- Coordinate overall solution delivery across multiple systems and vendors.
- Manage integration requirements, interfaces and dependencies.
- Ensure compliance with approved standards, architecture and project requirements.
- Work closely with TG on solution reviews and technical governance.
3. Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the solution focal point between clients, consultants, Project Managers, System Teams and IT Teams.
- Facilitate technical discussions and project coordination meetings.
- Manage project risks, issues and action items relating to solution delivery.
- Support management reporting and customer presentations.
4. Project Monitoring
- Review overall solution progress and readiness.
- Monitor integration, testing and acceptance activities.
- Escalate issues aecting solution delivery, integration or customer acceptance.
- Support project planning and delivery reviews.
5. Testing & Acceptance
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
- Review integration testing readiness and defect status.
- Ensure acceptance criteria are met before project handover.
- Support operational readiness and transition to maintenance teams.
Minimum Requirements
1. Education
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Building Services, Building Automation, Information Technology, Computer Science, Mechatronics or related disciplines.
2. Experience
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:
> Building Management Systems (BMS)
> Smart Building Solutions
> System Integration
> ACMV Controls
> Facilities Management Systems
> Digital Building Platforms
2. Technical Knowledge
- Candidate should possess a good understanding of:
> Building Systems
> Building Management Systems (BMS/IBMS)
> ACMV systems and building services
> Chiller plant operations
> Energy monitoring systems
> Building automation and controls
4. Smart Building & Digital Solutions
- System integration concepts
- Dashboard and analytics platforms
- Digital Twin concepts
- Asset Management systems
- Data and workflow integration
5. IT & Integration
- Basic networking concepts
- APIs and data exchange concepts
- BAC6net, Modbus or equivalent building communication protocols
- Cybersecurity awareness
6. Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Requirements gathering and workshop facilitation
- Problem solving and analytical thinking
- Technical documentation and report writing
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and vendors
- Good presentation and interpersonal skills
7. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Hospital, Healthcare, Data Centre or Mega Projects.
- Experience participating in SIT, UAT and project commissioning activities.
- Knowledge of:
> Chiller Plant Optimisation
> Laboratory / Critical Environment Controls
> Smart Building Analytics
> Energy Management Systems
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a technically competent and customer-focused engineer with a strong understanding of building systems, system integration, and smart building technologies. The successful candidate should possess excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across clients, consultants, vendors, and internal departments to deliver integrated Smart Building and Digital Solutions. Experience in requirements gathering, project coordination, testing, commissioning, and solution delivery will be an advantage.
