RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a highly motivated and dependable Logistic Engineer who will be responsible for planning, developing, improving and standardizing warehouse logistics and material handling processes to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operations within the manufacturing plant in REC. This role focuses on continuous improvement, operational standardization, safety initiatives, warehouse system optimization and data-driven performance improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Logistics Area Ownership

    • Own assigned logistics area performance in safety, quality, cost, productivity, wastage and throughput.
    • Monitor Logistics KPIs and support achievement of operational targets.

    Safety and Risk Management

    • Lead warehouse safety improvement initiatives by performing risk assessments and identifying opportunities to eliminate hazards.
    • Implement engineering and administrative safety controls to eliminate hazards in warehouse and material handling locations.
    • Investigate warehouse incidents and implement preventive actions.

    Warehouse Process Optimization

    • Analyze current warehouse and material handling processes to identify operational inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
    • Optimize warehouse space utilization
    • Root cause analysis to solve recurring operational issues for warehouse logistics in REC.

    Inventory Management Improvement

    • Reduce inventory losses and material handling errors by investigating inventory discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
    • Improve inventory transaction accuracy within ERP/WMS systems.

    Standard Operating Procedures Management (SOPs) & training

    • Develop, implement, review, and continuously improve warehouse SOPs and work instructions (WIs).
    • Ensure warehouse processes remain standardized across all shifts and operational teams.
    • Maintain controlled documentation for warehouse procedures.
    • Train Warehouse Logistics Supervisors and Material Handlers on new processes and WIs.

    Cross Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with other departments and functional groups to support new materials or product introductions by developing material handling strategies.
    • Participate in capacity planning and warehouse expansion projects

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of warehouse safety principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively identifies operational risks and develops preventive solutions.
  • Promotes a proactive safety culture through engineering controls and process improvements

Warehouse Process Engineering

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of warehouse operations, material flow, storage systems and logistics engineering principles.
  • Ability to implement efficient warehouse processes that support manufacturing operations.

Inventory Management

  • Possess strong knowledge of inventory control methodologies.
  • Understands inventory accuracy drivers, transaction controls, traceability and warehouse auditing.

Data Analysis & Problem Solving

  • Capability to collect and analyze operational data to support decision-making.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies and make recommendations or corrective actions based on quantitative evidence.

Continuous Improvement

  • Ability to apply lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping and 5S methodologies.
  • Demonstrates ability to identify waste and implement sustainable improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication

  • Effectively communicates technical concepts to operational teams

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the interview for the recruitment of new material handlers
  • Any adhoc duties requested by Logistics Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Material Management or Engineering.
  • Knowledge in warehouse/logistics/manufacturing environment is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Entry level candidates are welcome to apply.

OTHER INFORMATION

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Good working knowledge of 5S & visual management
  • Capable of writing SOP & WI required for warehouse management and operations.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
  • Knowledge of tools and methodologies like Root Cause Analysis and TPM, etc. will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge on MHE and warehouse racking will be an added advantage
  • Able to work in fast-paced environment and under stress
  • Continuous improvement mindset and ability to drive for sustainable implementation.
  • Strong work ethic and professionalism
  • Skills and abilities to perform job include: analytical communication, presentation skills, problem solving and troubleshooting skills, computer literacy, interpersonal skills, exercises mature judgment; ability to work in a team, as well as independently; ability to influence other people.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivated, dynamic, and committed with a proactive attitude toward problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and teamwork skills.
  • Working with Kanban system

ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:

  • Experience in Power BI, power apps and power automate.
  • Experience in operating ERP system (WMS/SAP/IFS/etc.) for inventory management and analysis
  • Acquired forklift license

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • No medical history of injury, cardiovascular diseases.
  • Physically fit
