Communications and Marketing Executive
About this job
Reporting to the Manager of Communications and Engagement, this role will strengthen DSA's brand, reputation and public awareness through strategic communications and marketing, translating DSA's work, impact and advocacy into compelling stories that engage members, families, donors, partners, media and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities
•Develop and implement DSA's annual strategic communications and marketing plan.
•Manage corporate communications, media relations, digital communications and content development.
•Develop key messages, press releases, media pitches, speeches and corporate communications.
•Build and maintain relationships with media and relevant external stakeholders.
•Develop compelling stories featuring DSA's programmes, individuals, families, volunteers and partners.
•Manage DSA's website, social media, EDMs and other communication channels.
•Develop integrated campaigns to increase awareness, engagement, fundraising and participation.
•Oversee development of publications, annual reports, newsletters and marketing collateral.
•Support communications for major events and fundraising campaigns.
•Identify opportunities to position DSA as a credible voice on issues affecting persons with Down syndrome.
•Monitor media coverage, social media performance and communications analytics.
•Ensure consistency of DSA's brand identity, tone and messaging across all platforms.
Requirements
•Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or related discipline
•3–5 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, public relations, marketing or an integrated communications and marketing role
•Experience in media relations, content development marketing and campaign management
•Strong writing and editing skills
•Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
•Experience managing digital and social media platforms
•Experience in the use of design/content creation tools is an advantage
•Experience in the charity/non-profit, healthcare or social service sector is an advantage
