Environmental Education Eco-Gardener(Indoor-8:00am to 12:00pm)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Maintain the school’s green spaces and urban farming facilities, including the library planter, grow towers, Ecogarden and hydroponics system.

• Perform watering, pruning, staking, fertilising, mulching, edging and weeding.

• Monitor plant health and manage pest and fungal problems using appropriate organic treatments.

• Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs of gardening facilities.

• Maintain gardening equipment, stores and inventory.

• Provide horticultural advice to the Teacher-in-Charge when required.

CCA & Project Work Support:

• Assist teachers during Environmental Club and Primary 4 & 5 Environmental Education sessions.

• Guide students in sowing, germination, transplanting and harvesting activities.

• Prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons.

• Monitor seedlings and vegetables for healthy growth, pest infestation and fungal issues.

• Maintain cleanliness of urban farming areas and prevent drainage blockages.

• Operate and perform basic troubleshooting of hydroponic systems, including topping up water, nutrients and managing system temperature.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Knowledge of gardening, pruning, irrigation, soil management and plant propagation.

• Experience in cultivating fruit, vegetables, trees and shrubs.

• Ability to safely handle organic pesticides, herbicides and fertilisers.

• Basic knowledge of hydroponic system operation and maintenance.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience in horticulture, gardening or urban farming, preferably in a school environment.

• Experience working with or supporting children in an educational setting.

  · Mondays to Fridays: 8:00am to 12:00pm

  · Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazette public holidays
