QUANTITY SURVEYOR

1. Job Purpose
To handle quantity measurement, estimation, progress claims, variation works,subcontractor claims and project cost control for piping fabrication and installation projects.
2. Main Responsibilities· Review drawings, specifications, MTO, BOQ and scope of work.
· Read piping isometric drawings, P&IDs and layout drawings.
· Prepare piping quantity take-off for pipes,fittings, flanges, valves, supports and welding joints.
· Calculate quantities based on dia-inch,inch-meter, meter, joint, tonnage or lump-sum basis.
· Prepare manpower and man-hour estimates for fabrication and installation works.
· Assist in preparing project quotations and cost estimates.
· Prepare and submit weekly/monthly progress measurements and client claims.
· Identify additional works and prepare Variation Order / Change Order claims.
· Maintain proper supporting records for claims and variations.
· Verify subcontractor quantities, progress claims and variation claims.
· Monitor project budget, actual cost, committed cost and manpower productivity.
· Coordinate with Project, Engineering, QA/QC,Procurement and Finance teams.
· Prepare final quantity reconciliation, final account and follow up certification/payment.
3. Technical Knowledge· Piping fabrication, spool fabrication,installation and field welding.
· Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Alloy Steel and Duplex piping.
· Pipe supports, valves, flanges, fittings and associated mechanical works.
· Hydrotesting, reinstatement and basic pre-commissioning activities.
· Marine, offshore, petrochemical, oil & gas and industrial construction projects.
4. Qualification & Experience· Diploma / Degree in Quantity Surveying,Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
· Preferably 3-8 years of experience in piping/mechanical QS, estimation or commercial work.
· Experience in marine, shipyard, oil & gas,petrochemical or construction projects preferred.
5. Software & Key Skills· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
· Able to read AutoCAD/PDF engineering drawings;Blue beam, Navisworks or similar tools are an advantage.
· Good numerical, commercial, documentation and communication skills.
· Able to work independently and coordinate with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
· Good understanding of progress claims,variations, cost control and subcontractor measurement.
6. Main ObjectiveEnsure all completed piping works are correctly measured, documented, claimed and commercially recovered while maintaining proper control of project and subcontractor costs.
