Responsibilities:
- Direct the month-end inventory close process and see it through to on-time completion.
- Verify that the WMS–ERP (EBS) system interface is functioning with proper controls throughout the closing cycle.
- Compare inventory quantities between WMS and ERP and actively resolve any mismatches.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to examine and correct the root causes of inventory variations.
- Generate and assess inventory aging summaries, ensuring they agree with the Trial Balance.
- Accrue for Goods-in-Transit, encompassing freight, duties, and other incidental charges.
- Validate account balances and create reports for management review and external reporting.
- Assess inventory for impairment and set aside appropriate valuation allowances where needed.
- Reconcile all inventory entries, covering adjustments and internal stock transfers.
- Keep track of and report any inventory irregularities, including losses from theft or damage.
- Contribute to the preparation of inventory projections in conjunction with the Supply Chain team.
- Evaluate product costing methods and confirm the reliability of inventory valuations.
- Take part in the annual physical stocktake and ensure all documentation is fully maintained.
- Assist with audit requirements by producing supporting data and responding to auditor requests.
- Supervise stock movements between distribution centers and ensure they are executed in a timely manner.
- Carry out any other tasks and special projects as reasonably assigned.
Requirements:
- Min Degree in Accountancy.
- At least 3–5 years of hands-on experience in inventory accounting or auditing.
- Strong command of inventory accounting principles, cost methodologies, and reconciliation workflows.
- Proven experience using ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- High-level Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis functions.
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities, complemented by meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively across functions.
- Capable of performing well under pressure, handling competing priorities, and meeting strict deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting regulations and standards, including US GAAP.
- Practical experience leveraging accounting systems and tools to support financial operations.
- Highly detail-oriented, with a consistent focus on accuracy and data integrity.
