Cabling Operator/Technician

Job Responsibilities

1. Read and Understand Electrical Drawings

• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and blueprints.

• Understand electrical symbols and connections to ensure that wiring and installations are completed according to design specifications.

2. Fabricate Cables According to Schedule and Demand

• Fabricate and prepare cables according to the required lengths, types and quantities based on the project schedule and requirements.

• Ensure that cables meet the required specifications and are properly prepared for installation or use.

3. Check Electrical Wiring, Laying and Testing

• Inspect completed electrical wiring and cable installations to ensure they are correctly installed and meet the required safety standards.

• Perform relevant electrical tests to ensure proper functionality, which may include continuity tests, insulation resistance tests and voltage checks.

4. Other Duties

• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.

• This may include troubleshooting, assisting with installations and other duties required to support project or operational needs.

Skills Requirements

• Ability to accurately identify and differentiate colors used in electrical wiring is required for the role.

• The following skills would be advantageous but are not mandatory:

  • Soldering

  • Crimping

  • Understanding of electrical schematics

Requirements

• Education: GCE O-Level or N-Level qualification.

• Experience: No prior working experience required; fresh candidates are welcome to apply.
