Assistant Director/Deputy Director, Analytics & Insights (Public Agency)
About this job
We are looking for an experienced analytics leader with strong expertise in data analysis, statistical modelling, stakeholder management, and team leadership to drive tourism insights, data-driven decision-making, and strategic reporting across internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the compilation, analysis, and reporting of key tourism statistics and performance indicators.
- Deliver timely insights and updates on tourism performance to support organisational objectives.
- Translate complex data and research findings into actionable recommendations for business and policy decision-making.
- Support data-driven decision-making by providing meaningful insights to internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaise and coordinate with Whole-of-Government (WOG) agencies to gather, validate, and align data and information.
- Manage stakeholder relationships and collaborate with external partners on data and analytics initiatives.
- Ensure the successful delivery of analytics projects, reports, and data-related deliverables.
- Support the development and management of data partnerships to enhance insights generation and industry intelligence.
- Any other adhoc duties as assigned
Requirements
- Possesses minimum a Degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline, with at least 8 years of analytics experience and 3 years of team leadership experience.
- Strong expertise in data analytics, statistical modelling, forecasting, data visualisation, and quantitative/qualitative research methodologies, with proficiency in tools such as R, SQL, and Python.
- Proven ability to synthesise complex data from multiple sources into actionable insights and communicate findings effectively to senior management and stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder, project, and vendor management skills, with experience collaborating across organisations and leading data-driven initiatives.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable professional with excellent communication skills, a passion for innovation, and an interest in emerging technologies and economic impact assessment.
