About Us

The Development Office (DVO) is the University-wide central unit responsible for driving philanthropic support for the University’s mission.

We are seeking a Senior Manager to join the Faculty Engagement team who will proactively engage with faculties and other units to enable them to participate effectively in philanthropy, identify fundable opportunities and ensure that University priorities are translated into compelling cases for support.

The incumbent is expected to work closely with faculty members, academic leaders, and development colleagues to identify philanthropic opportunities, support donor engagement, and foster a culture where philanthropy advances the University's education, research, and societal impact.

About the Role

The role will serve as the bridge between academic, research and administrative units, and DVO. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement a stakeholder engagement strategy that aligns the University's academic, research and programme priorities with philanthropic opportunities.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, faculty members and development colleagues to identify and advance strategic fundraising opportunities.
  • Identify and facilitate cross-faculty collaborations that inspire transformational philanthropic partnerships.
  • Advise and guide internal stakeholders on the University's philanthropic processes and policies, supporting the successful acceptance and stewardship of gifts.
  • Build and nurture a community of faculty champions, designing initiatives that strengthen engagement with the Development Office over time.
  • Partner with development colleagues to develop compelling donor engagement strategies, cases for support and funding proposals.
  • Lead strategic projects and process improvements that strengthen collaboration between faculties and DVO.
  • Support the development and implementation of faculty-related policies, frameworks and best practices.
  • Support the team with other duties as business needs require.

About You

We are looking for someone who is strategic, relationship-driven, and highly motivated, with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders with professionalism and confidence.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University.
  • At least 6 years of relevant professional experience in stakeholder engagement, partnerships, business development, strategic programmes or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing relationships with senior stakeholders across complex organisations.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and translate ideas into action.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative and service-oriented, with the ability to build trust with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to exercise diplomacy, discretion and sound judgement when handling sensitive matters.
  • An interest in higher education and a genuine appreciation for the role philanthropy plays in advancing teaching, research and societal impact.

Prior fundraising experience is advantageous but not essential.
