Finance Manager / Assistant Finance Manager (Finance Systems & Transformation)

Our client is a well-established organisation with a meaningful social impact, currently strengthening its finance capabilities through the implementation of a new enterprise finance system.

They are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager or Assistant Finance Manager who enjoys both financial accounting and improving how finance operates through technology. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to broaden their career beyond traditional accounting into finance systems, process improvement and user enablement.

The Opportunity

This is a unique hybrid role combining hands-on finance responsibilities with the opportunity to become an internal finance systems specialist.

Working closely with the Head of Finance, you will:

• Support month-end and year-end closing, financial reporting and analysis.
• Ensure accounting records are maintained accurately and in accordance with relevant standards and internal policies.
• Support finance operations, controls and reporting activities.
• Provide first-line support for the organisation's finance system, including user administration and basic troubleshooting.
• Work with internal stakeholders and external system partners to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Develop user guides and training materials, and help colleagues maximise the use of the finance system.
• Contribute to future finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will be supported to deepen their systems expertise over time while continuing to build a broad finance career.

About You

You are likely to have:

• A degree in Accountancy or a recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA or CA).
• At least five years of experience in financial accounting, reporting or finance operations.
• Strong accounting fundamentals with the ability to work hands-on.
• Experience using ERP or cloud-based finance systems. Participation in an ERP implementation or system enhancement project would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to investigate financial or systems-related issues.
• Confidence communicating with stakeholders and supporting users.
• A genuine interest in finance systems, process improvement and continuous learning.
