VP of Research, Machine Learning

We are looking for an AI Research & Intelligence Lead to own the brain of our platform. You will lead how our system thinks, remembers, and acts—translating cutting-edge AI techniques into a reliable, high-frequency user product.

What You'll Do

• Set the Research Vision: Drive architecture strategy across context representation, memory, orchestration, and complex reasoning.

• Build vs. Buy Decisions: Determine when to train custom models, distill knowledge, or integrate leading open-source/commercial APIs.

• Rethink Evals: Construct rigorous evaluation pipelines focused on user utility, safety, and long-term behavior rather than paper benchmarks.

• Explore the Frontier: Experiment with MoE, multi-agent frameworks, multimodal systems, and retrieval strategies.

• Set the Bar: Establish a culture of research rigor, technical taste, and product-led engineering.

Requirements

• Deep experience shipping real-world ML systems to production.

• A founder-level sense of ownership with a bias toward action.

• Strong intuition for model trade-offs, failure modes, and safety guardrails.

• Obsession with metrics that actually reflect product quality.

• Stack: Python, PyTorch/JAX, GPU Infrastructure.
