Healthcare Business Systems Analyst – InterSystems
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Business Systems Analyst to drive the enhancement, integration, and continuous improvement of our InterSystems HealthShare ecosystem. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business/clinical stakeholders and technical development teams, ensuring our Health Information Exchange (HIE) and clinical data platforms deliver accurate, compliant, and actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Integration: Partner closely with clinical, technical, and operational stakeholders to elicit, define, and document requirements for HealthShare enhancements and system integrations.
System Configuration & Workflows: Analyze and configure core HealthShare functionality, including the Unified Care Record (UCR), Clinical Viewer, and tailored clinical workflows.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Design, execute, and oversee comprehensive test plans (including System Integration Testing and UAT) to validate data accuracy, interface behavior, and system functionality.
Data Standards & Flow Review: Inspect and review message content and data exchanges utilizing healthcare standards (HL7 v2/v3, FHIR, C-CDA) for accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance.
Documentation & Training: Create clear functional specifications, data mapping documents, and workflow diagrams. Develop training materials and conduct end-user training sessions when needed.
Support & Continuous Improvement: Provide Tier 2/3 functional support, perform root-cause analysis on data/workflow issues, and proactively recommend system and process enhancements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Business or Systems Analyst within Healthcare IT or Health Information Exchange (HIE) environments.
Platform Expertise: Strong functional knowledge of InterSystems HealthShare (specifically Unified Care Record and Clinical Viewer).
Interoperability Standards: Deep understanding of healthcare data exchange standards, including HL7, FHIR, and C-CDA.
Technical Artifacts: Proven ability to read, interpret, and validate technical artifacts such as Data Transformation Lookups (DTLs), schemas, and data models.
Data Analysis: Solid SQL skills for querying databases, inspecting data flows, and performing data reconciliation.
Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-facing skills, with a track record of translating complex technical concepts into clear business language.
Nice to Have
Hands-on experience with additional HealthShare modules (e.g., Provider Directory, Consent Management, or HealthInsight).
Familiarity with standard clinical terminologies (SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm, ICD-10).
Experience working within Agile/Scrum software delivery teams.
