Job Summary
This high-impact role requires a legal professional with expertise in financial services and digital assets to manage corporate legal affairs and lead data protection compliance, partnering closely with the General Counsel and business units.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate core business contracts including client agreements, Terms & Conditions, Liquidity Provider agreements, IB agreements, and outsourcing agreements ensuring compliance with global data privacy regulations
- Manage the full lifecycle of contracts, including execution, amendments, renewals, termination, and post-termination obligations to mitigate legal risks
- Develop, maintain, and update standard contract templates and clauses to streamline recurring business activities
- Support the design and maintenance of the company’s data protection framework and ensure compliance with international data flow regulations
- Collaborate with business units to provide legal advice on growth initiatives, identifying and mitigating data privacy risks in new product launches and user data collection
- Advise on general corporate and commercial legal matters including corporate governance, group structure, and daily business operations
- Demonstrate a builder mentality by proactively creating legal processes and working autonomously in a dynamic, high-growth environment
Required competencies and certifications
- LLB or equivalent law degree, admitted in a common-law jurisdiction (Singapore, UK, US, or HK)
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE), with a combination of top-tier law firm training and in-house experience in trading firms, fintech, or digital asset platforms
- Working knowledge of data protection laws and practical experience in developing privacy frameworks
- Professional fluency in written and spoken Mandarin to handle legal documentation and liaise with stakeholders in Mandarin-speaking markets
