Business Intelligence Analyst (Pricing) -6 Months Contract

You will own the analytical frameworks that drive commercial pricing strategies across the Asia-Pacific region. This role bridges market intelligence, predictive modeling, and strategic pricing execution. You will turn raw market data into actionable revenue-generating insights, collaborating directly with sales, trading, and regional supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing Strategy & Execution
- Develop dynamic pricing models to optimize regional margins for refined products and lubricants.
- Evaluate daily market price exposure against local benchmarks (e.g., Platts indices).
- Audit pricing structures across B2B and retail segments to minimize margin leakage.
- Approve non-standard pricing requests from commercial teams based on financial risk assessments.
Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Design and maintain automated BI dashboards using Power BI and Tableau.
- Consolidate complex data streams from SAP, CRM, and external market intelligence platforms.
- Build predictive analytics tools to forecast demand elasticity and competitor behavior.
- Lead data governance initiatives to improve regional commercial data accuracy and pipeline health.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Synthesize macroeconomic trends, regulatory changes, and geopolitical events impacting regional oil prices.
- Present monthly commercial performance reviews to regional executive leadership.
- Conduct deep-dive competitor analysis to benchmark Chevron’s market positioning.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Statistics, Data Analytics, or Engineering.
- 4 to 7 years of experience in pricing, commercial analysis, or business intelligence.
- Industry background in Oil & Gas, Energy Trading, Commodities, or Chemicals is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Advanced SQL capabilities for data extraction and data manipulation.
- Expertise in BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced financial modeling, VBA/Macros).
- Familiarity with ERP systems, specifically SAP (SD/MM modules).
- Python or R programming skills for statistical analysis are a strong plus.
Soft Skills
- Strong stakeholder management to challenge and influence cross-functional regional leaders.
- Excellent communication to translate complex data into simple, strategic business stories.
- Sharp attention to detail while managing time-sensitive daily pricing deadlines
