Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment / PVD Machine Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD) installation machines used in ground improvement projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, and overhauling hydraulic and mechanical systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient machine operations on-site.
Experience with modern diagnostic tools, heavy-duty engines, and hydraulic systems is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance, servicing, and overhauls on PVD installation machines and related heavy equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns in real-time, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Inspect and maintain critical components including mast, drain cutter head, hydraulic rams, winch systems, clamps, and undercarriage/track systems.
- Oversee the performance of hydraulic pumps, hoses, cylinders, and power units, ensuring optimal pressure and flow.
- Carry out engine-related works such as component replacement, alignment, and performance testing.
- Use advanced diagnostic and calibration tools to monitor and troubleshoot machine systems.
- Support assembly, disassembly, and mobilization of PVD rigs when required.
- Maintain detailed service logs, inspection reports, and spare parts inventory.
- Ensure compliance with site safety requirements and project quality standards.
- Recommend and implement improvements for higher machine reliability and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Technical diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working with PVD rigs, heavy equipment, or ground improvement machinery.
- Solid background in hydraulic systems, winch operations, and heavy-duty engine servicing (overhauls, replacements, calibration).
- Familiarity with modern diagnostic software and electronic service tools (for engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems).
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong expertise in hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, hydraulic schematics, and service manuals.
- Hands-on experience in engine servicing, system calibration, and component replacement.
- Familiarity with soil improvement or ground engineering methods (e.g., vertical drains, vibro-compaction) is an advantage.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance with heavy machinery operations.
- Independent problem-solving ability, with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
Preferred Background:
- Experience in international heavy equipment service environments or with OEM-authorised service procedures.
- Exposure to diagnostic tool usage, hydraulic calibration, and complete engine replacement/overhaul projects.
