Our client, an established food supply company in Jurong, is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day maintenance of its cold rooms, chillers and refrigeration systems.

This is a fixed on-site position focusing on routine checks, first-line troubleshooting and minor maintenance works. Major repairs, specialised servicing and equipment overhauls will be handled by external contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily checks on cold rooms, chillers and refrigeration systems.

• Monitor and record temperature, humidity and system performance.

• Troubleshoot temperature deviations, refrigeration issues and basic electrical faults.

• Perform first-line maintenance and minor repairs such as:

  • Coil cleaning

  • Clearing blocked defrost drains

  • Replacing worn door seals

  • Replacing simple components where within capability

• Assist in identifying equipment faults and take appropriate first-line corrective action.

• Coordinate with external service contractors for major breakdowns, specialised repairs, servicing and equipment overhauls.

• Follow up on contractor servicing and repair works.

• Maintain proper records of inspections, repairs, service reports and maintenance activities.

• Ensure cold rooms and refrigeration facilities are maintained according to operational, food-safety and housekeeping requirements.

Requirements

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma or relevant technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Refrigeration or related discipline.

• Candidates with relevant hands-on technical experience without the above qualifications may also be considered.

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in cold rooms, commercial refrigeration, chillers, walk-in freezers or similar systems.

• Able to perform basic electrical checks and testing using a multimeter.

• Able to carry out basic troubleshooting of temperature-control and refrigeration-related issues.

• Familiarity with digital temperature controllers and basic system monitoring will be an advantage.

• Hands-on, reliable and able to work independently.

• Able to maintain proper maintenance and service records.

• Comfortable working in a food supply / cold-storage environment.

• Able to work a 5.5-day week.
