Field Installation & Commissioning Technician (IoT devices)

Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, dependable IoT Field Installation & Commissioning Technician to lead field deployments, hardware mounting, wiring, and commissioning of IoT sensors, gateways, and CCTV surveillance systems across client project sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-installation site surveys to assess power points, mounting structures, cellular (4G/5G) and LoRaWAN signal quality, and cable routing pathways
• Mount and wire IoT gateways, environmental and energy sensors, and CCTV surveillance systems including IP cameras and NVRs
• Lay, terminate (RJ45), label, and test Cat5e/Cat6 network cabling and RS485 / Modbus serial buses
• Assign IP subnets, configure NVR profiles, set up port forwarding, and pair wireless IoT sensors to local gateways for system commissioning
• Execute Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to verify live data telemetry and video streams on cloud platforms
• Diagnose and troubleshoot offline hardware, sensor calibration issues, power faults, and network disconnects in the field

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Nitec / Higher Nitec (ITE) or Polytechnic Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical disciplines; entry-level graduates are welcome to apply
• Valid Class 3 / 3A Driving License to drive company vehicles for site deployments and equipment transport (highly advantageous)
• Practical experience with CCTV setup, network cabling termination, and safe use of hand and power tools
