Backend Engineer (Node.js)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js and/or Python
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs with a focus on performance, security, scalability, and maintainability
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Frontend Engineers, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following engineering best practices
• Develop unit and integration tests while supporting automated testing initiatives
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement timely fixes to ensure application reliability
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support application deployment, monitoring, and operations within cloud and containerized environments

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
• Min. 4 years of working experience developing backend applications using Node.js and/or Python
• Good understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Git
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
• Exposure to AWS cloud services; experience with Terraform would be advantageous
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
