About the Role
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the overall performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) within GAIN CITY warehouse. The role involves managing system maintenance, troubleshooting complex technical issues, coordinating with vendors, and supporting automation enhancements to ensure efficient and uninterrupted warehouse operations. The role may also require work at height during inspection, maintenance, or troubleshooting of ASRS equipment and racking structures.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the operation, maintenance, and performance of the ASRS system and related warehouse automation equipment.
Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and system faults affecting ASRS operations.
Plan and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for ASRS equipment.
Coordinate with automation vendors, system integrators, and contractors for maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades.
Monitor system performance and analyse data to identify opportunities for operational improvement and optimisation.
Support system testing, commissioning, and integration with Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Lead troubleshooting during system breakdowns to minimise operational downtime.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, maintenance procedures, and system reports.
Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) regulations and company safety policies.
Provide technical guidance and training to ASRS technicians and operators.
Perform inspection and maintenance activities at height when required, using proper safety equipment and following approved Work at Height (WAH) procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related field.
3–5 years of experience in warehouse automation, ASRS systems, or automated material handling systems such as shuttle systems, conveyors, and robotic systems
Strong knowledge of automation systems, controls, sensors, motors, and conveyors.
Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or system integration will be an advantage.
Familiarity with operating boom lift / scissor lift in warehouse or industrial environments will be an advantage.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation system faults.
Familiarity with Work at Height (WAH) safety requirements in warehouse or industrial environments.
Manage Work-at-Height Certification
