Key Job Purpose
Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate month-end closing, financial reporting, and account reconciliations while supporting the Finance Manager in maintaining the integrity of financial records, statutory compliance, and reporting requirements. The role also oversees the preparation of tax-related schedules and withholding tax (WHT) calculations, supports audit and internal control activities, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance finance operations, compliance, and reporting efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Closing & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain prepayment schedules and related journal entries.
- Analyse operating expenses and prepare accruals, reversals, and warranty provisions.
- Prepare tax schedules, WHT calculations, and supporting documentation.
- Assist in maintaining Notes to the Financial Statements.
- Review bank reconciliations and perform GL foreign currency revaluation.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
Controls & Compliance
- Review employee claims and ad hoc payments for policy compliance.
- Review stock disposal and production cycle count postings.
- Monitor Goods-in-Transit (GIT) balances and follow up on outstanding items.
- Support J-SOX compliance requirements and government survey submissions.
Audit, Tax & Business Support
- Support management reporting, financial analysis, and tax-related matters.
- Assist with annual audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Participate in system enhancements, UAT, and process improvement projects.
Process Improvement & Other Duties
- Drive continuous improvements in accounting processes, controls, and efficiency.
- Support inventory stock takes, fixed asset verification, and other ad hoc finance activities.
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- ACCA (Partly Qualified) or equivalent professional qualification.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Financial Accounting or related finance functions.
- Experience with SAP ERP or similar accounting systems is an advantage.
