Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) to oversee all Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) activities for our construction projects. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with Singapore WSH legislation, promote a strong safety culture, and work closely with project teams to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform the duties of a registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) in accordance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and its subsidiary legislation.
  • Advise the company, project management team, and employees on Workplace Safety & Health matters and legal requirements.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and compliance checks to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Develop, review, and update Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Method Statements, and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses, and prepare detailed investigation reports with recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Organise and conduct toolbox meetings, safety inductions, and WSH training for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Monitor compliance with workplace safety regulations, company safety policies, and client requirements.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and relevant authorities on WSH matters.
  • Monitor environmental, health, and housekeeping standards at project sites.
  • Prepare and maintain WSH records, reports, statistics, and documentation required by management and regulatory authorities.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and promote continuous improvement in workplace safety performance.
  • Support project teams in achieving project safety objectives and maintaining an excellent safety record.

Requirements

  • Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) with the Singapore Ministry of Manpower.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant WSH experience in the construction industry.
  • Good knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Health Act, subsidiary regulations, and Code of Practice.
  • Experience in M&E, fire protection, or building construction projects is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of Risk Assessment (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple project sites.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Possess a Class 3 driving license is an advantage.
