JOB PURPOSE

The Associate (Programme) is a key member of the Active Ageing Centre (AAC) team, supporting the planning and delivery of programs and initiatives that promote active ageing and enhance the wellbeing of seniors. Reporting to the Centre Supervisor, the Associate will assist with day-to-day operations, outreach activities, and engagement with seniors to foster a vibrant and inclusive community.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Programme Support:

  • Assist in the execution of programmes and activities aligned with the five (5) domains of the Active Ageing Programme (AAP): Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Social, and Vocational
  • Set up, manage, and facilitate daily activities, workshops, and events for seniors
  • Gather feedback from seniors on programme participation and suggest improvement.

Community Outreach and Engagement:

  • Conduct door-knocking and outreach activities to identify and connect with seniors in the community Support efforts to engage isolated or vulnerable seniors and encourage their participation in AAC activities
  • Build rapport with seniors to foster trust and understanding of their needs.

Volunteer and Partner Engagement:

  • Assist in coordinating volunteer involvement in activities and programmes
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for collaborations with community partners and stakeholders.

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain accurate attendance records, program schedules, and activity reports
  • Assist in preparing materials and logistics for programs and events
  • Support data entry and filing to ensure proper documentation for reporting purposes.

Centre Operations:

  • Help ensure the smooth running of the AAC, including managing resources and setting up for daily activities
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for seniors and visitors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum GCE 'O' Level or Diploma in a relevant discipline (e.g., Social Work, Community Development, Psychology, or Gerontology)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with seniors and volunteers. Prior experience in community engagement or working with seniors is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Enthusiastic, empathetic, and patient in interacting with diverse senior populations
  • Basic organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn other systems as needed
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Ability to communicate in English and at least one local language/dialect to interact effectively with seniors.
