Job Purpose
You will be part of the team to provide casework and counselling services for families, with the goal for families to achieve healthy family functioning, and to deliver divorce support programmes and services to families who are affected by divorce, with the goal for families and their children to achieve stability and self-reliance.
Job Roles and Responsibilities
Casework and Counselling
- Part of the Intake and Triage Team to conduct intake assessments for new intakes to identify needs, strengths, and risks and make necessary referrals for clients.
- Conduct counselling for individuals, couples and families who are experiencing stress due to marital and family-related issues. Includes Online counselling.
- Conduct case management for clients and case conferences with stakeholders.
- Identify, assessment and manage risks inherent in low-moderate complex cases by integrating a range of information and screening tools.
Support Programme and Workshops
- Plan, review and facilitate groupwork intervention for parents and children.
- Facilitate premarital and divorce related programme and workshops to help equip couples and parents with knowledge that enhance relationships and skills to cope with life transitions.
Supervision
- Provide programme and/ or practice/clinical supervision to junior Counsellor/Social Worker and/or interns/Contract for Service Family Life Educators to ensure programme fidelity and quality service delivery
Research and Practice
- Contribute to quality practice and professional matters in agency.
- Engage in research to evaluate activities and identify service gaps.
- Facilitate internal training for team / service point
Networking
- Support networking and advocacy sessions with partners and stakeholders
Job Requirements
Degree in Counselling OR Degree in Social Work (preferably with a recognised certification in Counselling)
At least 3 years of relevant casework / counselling experience in counselling, social work, or related work involving family, parents and children, and have experience in conducting training and workshop
Preferably clinical member of SAC
