Job Summary

You will be trained to prepare ingredients and support kitchen operations to meet Lawry’s high culinary standards, ensuring hygiene, efficiency, and quality to enhance the guest dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and mise en place accurately following senior chefs’ instructions to meet dish specifications
• Measure ingredients and portion sizes precisely to ensure consistency and quality
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and cleanliness in all kitchen areas
• Assist with stock rotation and proper storage to preserve ingredient freshness
• Prepare mise en place sheets for daily briefings as directed by senior chefs
• Minimise food wastage through careful preparation and handling techniques
• Follow food hygiene, workplace safety, and health procedures consistently
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Continuously develop culinary skills through training and guidance from senior chefs
• Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent dining experiences for guests
• Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by supervisors to support kitchen operations
• Adhere to the company’s Staff Code of Conduct at all times

Required competencies and certifications

• Basic understanding of food hygiene and workplace health and safety practices

• No prior kitchen experience required; open to candidates with or without experience
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
• Punctuality, responsibility, and discipline
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
