Finance Manager (Tuas, Chinese-speaking)

Location: Onsite in Tuas
This role is responsible for overseeing finance operations in Singapore while supporting regional treasury activities across Southeast Asia. The position will manage a small Singapore finance team covering AP/AR and day-to-day finance operations, while ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective controls, cash visibility and appropriate treasury support for the wider region. The ideal candidate will be an experienced finance manager with a strong background in operational finance, team leadership, process management and financial control, together with practical exposure to treasury and cash management.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day finance and accounting operations for the Singapore entity, including AP, AR, payments, reconciliations and month-end activities
- Manage and provide guidance to a small finance team of approximately 3 staff covering AP/AR and related finance operations
- Review financial records, reconciliations and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy, completeness and timely closing
- Work closely with regional finance teams to ensure finance activities are completed in accordance with group policies and timelines
- Support statutory reporting, audit, tax and other local compliance requirements
- Strengthen internal controls, approval processes and finance governance
- Identify opportunities to improve, standardize and document finance processes across the Singapore and regional operations
- Monitor working capital, including collections, payments and cash requirements
- Prepare and review short- and medium-term cash flow forecasts based on AP, AR and business inputs
- Monitor cash positions and ensure sufficient liquidity for operational requirements
- Support bank account administration, including account opening/closure, signatory maintenance and online banking access
- Maintain relationships with banking partners and support banking facilities, trade lines and other credit arrangements where required
- Monitor foreign exchange exposure and coordinate hedging or other mitigation activities when necessary
- Support intercompany funding, financing arrangements and treasury reporting
- Assist with the rationalization and standardization of banking arrangements across regional entities
- Provide regular finance and cash flow updates to regional management and headquarters
- Support finance and treasury requirements relating to new projects, business expansion and regional initiatives
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Around 8–12 years of relevant hands-on experience in accounting and finance operations, including AP, AR, reconciliations, month-end closing and financial reporting
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Accounting Manager or similar role, with established responsibility for day-to-day finance operations
- Previous experience managing and developing a small finance/accounting team
- Practical exposure to treasury activities, such as cash management, cash flow forecasting, banking, FX, financing or liquidity management
- Strong understanding of internal controls, finance governance and compliance
- Experience working with a Shared Services Centre (SSC) or centralized finance structure
- Exposure to finance process transition, standardization, process mapping or operating model improvement
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP and online banking platforms
- Experience within a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, energy or related environment is preferred
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese to support communication with Chinese-speaking stakeholders and headquarters
- Experience supporting SSC setup, process migration or finance transformation initiatives would be highly advantageous
