Role Overview:
We are looking for a Principal Systems Analyst, Data Platform to support the stability, modernisation, and continuous improvement of enterprise data platforms. The role will oversee data platform operations, release management, performance monitoring, service improvement, and governance across data warehousing, ETL pipelines, analytics environments, and cloud-based platforms.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving platform modernisation, including cloud adoption, AI-driven automation, CI/CD implementation, and scalable analytics solutions. This role will also provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and work closely with stakeholders to ensure data platforms remain secure, reliable, compliant, and aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Operations & Service Management
- Oversee the stability, scalability, and reliability of enterprise data platforms.
- Ensure smooth integration of data warehousing, ETL pipelines, and analytics environments.
- Act as the subject matter expert for troubleshooting and resolving complex data platform issues.
- Monitor platform performance, availability, and capacity to identify and mitigate operational risks.
2) Service Improvement & Strategy
- Evaluate existing data platform capabilities and recommend improvements to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Drive modernisation initiatives, including cloud-native services and AI-driven automation.
- Align data platform strategy with organisational goals for digital transformation and advanced analytics.
- Identify opportunities to improve platform operations, automation, governance, and user adoption.
3) Release, Change, Performance & Availability
- Manage release cycles, upgrades, and change requests across data platform components.
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and reduce downtime.
- Monitor platform performance, availability, and capacity trends.
- Proactively identify risks and recommend improvements to platform resilience and reliability.
4) People & Technical Leadership
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to analysts, engineers, and consultants supporting the data platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure platform solutions meet business and operational needs.
- Lead stakeholder workshops and training sessions to improve data literacy and platform adoption.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
5) Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with data governance frameworks, privacy regulations, and industry standards.
- Establish and maintain documentation, audit trails, and policies for platform operations and automation workflows.
- Identify and mitigate risks relating to data integrity, platform reliability, security, and compliance.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in systems analysis, SQL, data warehousing, data platforms, and business intelligence tools.
- Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Qlik, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Proficiency in Python, machine learning concepts, and MLOps practices for scalable analytics solutions.
- Experience with RPA tools such as UiPath and Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Microsoft Fabric.
- Strong understanding of ETL, data modelling, and data governance frameworks.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and cloud data platforms such as Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, or Google BigQuery.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and data storytelling skills.
- Healthcare domain experience will be advantageous.
- PMP or Scrum Master certification will be advantageous.
- Experience in AI/ML-driven automation and advanced analytics use cases will be advantageous.
