Food Lab Assistant - Redhill

Contract Period: From 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027 with an option to extend the Contract for a further period of one (1) year.

Working hours:
· Mondays to Thursdays: 7.30am to 4.30pm, inclusive of 30 mins lunch break
· Fridays: 7.30am to 1.30pm, no lunch break
· Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

Scope of Services:
• Be in the Teacher’s Preparation Room and food laboratories during working hours
• Ordering of food ingredients before lesson
• Preparation of ingredients before lessons, ensuring food is prepared and handled safely
• Maintaining cleanliness of utensils, equipment and food laboratories areas
• Handling inventory and stock taking of resources e.g. books, utensils and equipment
• Assisting the teacher during practical session e.g. ensuring that students observe safety rules, guiding students in preparation skills
• Administration –Checking and filing of invoices and keeping track of the cost of the ingredients
• Any other duties relating to the food laboratories assigned by NFS teachers, SH/NFS, HOD/Craft and Technology and the School Leaders

Qualifications, skills and experience:

• Minimum qualification of Primary 6
• Able to converse andwrite in English
• Basic mathematicalskills e.g. able to calculate the amount of ingredients based on a given recipefor seven classes
• Good knowledge on foodingredients and food preparation. Preferably to have attained the Basic FoodHygiene Course
• Must have at least 1year experience working on food preparation in a commercial/school or training kitchen
• Previous working experience in a school-kitchen will be an added advantage
