Head of Subcontracting

1. Subcontracting Management - Plan, coordinate and oversee all subcontracting scopes in the yard:

Fabrication, Blasting/painting, scaffolding, NDT, Architecture installation works, Electrical Installation

works, HVAC Installation works, etc. Develop project-level subcontracting plans and budgets.

2. Manage subcontractor selection, tendering, negotiation, contract award and administration in line with

company policy.

3. Oversee all subcontracting resources in the yard. Ensure right skills, numbers, and tools are available.

Monitor subcontractor HSE performance, productivity, quality, and compliance to schedule. Conduct

regular site audits, toolbox meetings, and performance reviews with subcontractors.

4. Ensure proper contract management: variations, claims, back-charges, progress claims, and close-out.

Work with Project, QA/QC, HSE, and Construction to align subcontract scope with project requirements

5. Control cost and prevent leakage. Drive cost optimization without compromising safety/quality.

6. Ensure all subcontractors comply with Wasco HSE, QA/QC, labor law, and company policies. Maintain

proper documentation: contracts, method statements, risk assessments, inductions

7. Act as main point of contact for subcontractor issues and escalations.

8. Lead and develop the subcontracting team in the yard

9. Build strong working relationships with project teams, Construction, Quality, HSE, HR, and clients

10. Drive a culture of safety, integrity, and continuous improvement

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Equivalent experience considered

• Minimum 10-12 years in oil & gas, shipyard, EPC, or heavy fabrication yard

• Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing subcontractors and contracts

• Experience in subcontract tendering, negotiation, and contract administration

• Based full-time in Wasco Batam Yard

• Regular site walks and engagement with subcontractors
