Key Responsibilities
Transport Planning & Scheduling
• Plan and assign daily transportjobs to drivers based on delivery location, priority, vehicle availability, andoperational requirements.
• Optimize truck utilization androute planning to reduce empty runs, waiting time, and unnecessary mileage.
• Arrange ad-hoc, urgent andsame-day transportation requests where operationally possible.
• Ensure appropriate vehicle andequipment are assigned according to cargo type and customer requirements.
• Support planning for DG, reefer,overweight and special cargo where applicable.
Transport Control & Monitoring
• Monitor drivers and vehiclemovements throughout the day.
• Follow up closely on collection,delivery and POD return status.
• Proactively identify potentialdelays and take corrective action before they affect customer deliveryschedules.
• Coordinate with drivers when thereare traffic delays, equipment issues or changes in customer instructions.
• Ensure drivers receive completedelivery instructions and required documents before deployment.
• Update customers and internalteams promptly on delivery status, delays or operational issues.
• Escalate major incidents orservice disruptions to management when required.
Safety & Compliance
• Ensure transport activities complywith company SOPs and applicable Singapore regulations.
• Ensure DG transportationrequirements are followed for regulated cargo.
• Verify that vehicles, drivers andsupporting documentation are suitable for the cargo being transported.
• Ensure drivers are briefed onsite-specific safety and delivery requirements.
• Report accidents, cargo damage,spills, vehicle breakdowns, or other incidents immediately.
• Support implementation ofTransport Emergency Response Plan (TERP) requirements where applicable.
Requirements• Diploma / NITEC / Higher NITEC orequivalent qualification.
• Preferably 2–3 years of experience in transport planning, trucking, logistics, orfreight forwarding.
• Knowledge of Singapore roadsandlocal delivery locations is preferred.
• Basic understanding ofimport/export documentation and customs permits is preferred.
• Knowledge of DG transportationrequirements will be an advantage.
Skills & Competencies• Strong planning and coordinationskills.
• Able to handle multiple jobssimultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Good geographical knowledge ofSingapore.
• Strong problem-solving anddecision-making ability.
• Able to communicate effectivelywith drivers, customers and internal teams.
• Good follow-up and attention todetail.
• Able to remain calm and respondquickly during operational disruptions.
• Good working knowledge ofMicrosoft Excel, Outlook and logistics systems.
• Team-oriented with a strong senseof responsibility and ownership.
Working Requirements• Able to support transportoperations outside normal office hours when required.
• May be required to handle urgentoperational matters, early-morning deliveries or after-hours transportationarrangements.
• Must be comfortable working in afast-moving operational environment where schedules may change at short notice.
