Infrastructure Engineer (Digital Asset Management)
About this job
Infrastructure Engineer (Digital Asset Management)
- Working Hours: Mon-Fri (Hybrid)
- Remuneration: Up to $11,000 + AWS
- Employment Type: Contract (1 year renewable with chances of conversion)
About the Role
We are seeking a Platform Infrastructure Engineer to join a technology team within the government supporting critical infrastructure integrations across multiple stakeholder organisations. This role owns the platform's cloud-hosted infrastructure and manages the technical onboarding of external data sources onto the platform, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable connectivity. The successful candidate will be the technical backbone of stakeholder onboarding and platform reliability, with hands-on ownership of digital asset governance and data integrations.
Responsibilities
- Provision, configure, and maintain cloud-hosted platform infrastructure, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable connectivity between external stakeholders and the platform
- Own and administer digital asset management across the platform — including device management and digital token/credential lifecycle — as part of the platform's three-layer architecture (user, data, and system layers)
- Configure and deploy data connectors using stakeholder-provided credentials and access parameters; monitor data ingestion pipelines for errors and quality issues
- Prepare technical onboarding packages for external parties, specifying service accounts, API tokens, required permissions, and firewall rules
- Provide L2/L3 troubleshooting, configuration support, and technical advisory to stakeholder organisations during integration and ongoing operations
- Implement and maintain network connectivity between the platform and external environments (firewall rules, VPN tunnels, proxy configurations)
- Monitor platform health, performance, and capacity; respond to incidents and outages
- Support platform lifecycle activities including procurement coordination and environment setup
- Develop and maintain runbooks, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 3 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or systems administration
- Hands-on cloud experience — the platform is fully cloud-hosted, and candidates must be able to provision, configure, and troubleshoot cloud-based infrastructure independently
- Working understanding of digital asset management, including device management and digital token/credential administration, within a layered application architecture (user, data, system)
- Demonstrated experience providing L2/L3 troubleshooting, configuration, and technical advisory support, ideally across multiple stakeholders or organisations
- Hands-on experience with data integration platforms, API-based connectors, or ETL/ELT tooling
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including firewalls, DNS, proxies, and VPN configurations
- Experience managing service accounts, API tokens, certificates, and credential lifecycle in enterprise environments
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code practices and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
- Ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues across network, authentication, and application layers
Desirable
- Experience with cyber asset management platforms (e.g., Axonius, Armis, ServiceNow CMDB, Qualys)
- Understanding of cybersecurity concepts including attack surface management, vulnerability scanning, and asset discovery
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
- Prior experience in cross-functional teams working alongside data engineers and business analysts
