Nursing Aide

The Nursing Aide / Senior Caregiver provides safe, compassionate and person-centred care to clients under the direction and supervision of nursing staff. The role includes assistance with activities of daily living, mobility, nutrition, personal hygiene, basic care activities, cognitive stimulation and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.

Job Requirements
- Assist clients with bathing, showering, grooming, oral hygiene, dressing and toileting.

- Carry out simple exercises prescribed by allied health professionals, where instructed.
- Assist with NGT/PEG feeding and related care only when trained, assessed as competent and authorised.
- Perform simple wound dressing, stoma care and hypo-count where trained and authorised.
- Provide medication reminders or prompting only where permitted and authorised.
- Observe clients for changes in physical, emotional, cognitive or behavioural condition.
- Escort clients to hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation and other approved appointments.
- Follow infection prevention, hand hygiene and PPE requirements.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, allied health professionals, families, caregivers and other care staff.

Job Qualification
- ITE Skill Certification (ISC) in Healthcare (Home Care)
