Senior Software Engineer - AI & Data Systems
About this job
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of scalable AI-powered systems that process and extract insights from unstructured engineering documents—including CAD/BIM designs, technical reports, and regulatory documents.
In this role, you will design and deploy high-performance APIs, integrate AI/ML models, and ensure seamless interaction between React-based front-end applications and Python back-end services. You’ll work closely with data scientists to bring cutting-edge AI models into production-ready, enterprise-grade solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable, AI-powered backend systems using Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django).
- Build and maintain APIs that integrate LLMs (GPT, LLaMA), vision models, and RAG frameworks into enterprise applications.
- Develop and optimize front-end applications using React, TypeScript, and modern UI frameworks.
- Deploy AI-driven services on cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) and on-prem environments, ensuring security and compliance.
- Work with vector databases (FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate) and structured/unstructured data storage solutions.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and MLOps best practices for scalable and reliable AI deployments.
- Ensure system performance, security, and compliance, including RBAC, OAuth2, and API security.
- Collaborate with data scientists and product teams to turn research models into real-world applications.
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, focusing on backend, API development, and AI/ML integration.
- Proficiency in Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django) and React (Next.js, TypeScript, Redux, or similar frameworks).
- Strong knowledge of microservices, event-driven architectures, and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
- Hands-on experience deploying AI/ML models (LLMs, RAG, Vision AI) in production environments.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud deployment (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Familiarity with data processing pipelines (ETL, batch & streaming systems).
- Strong understanding of security best practices in API development and AI-driven systems.
- Ability to optimize and scale AI-powered applications for high performance and reliability.
Nice to Have
- Experience with MLOps frameworks (MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow).
- Knowledge of CAD/BIM data processing (IFC, DXF, Revit API).
- Experience with geospatial and engineering document workflows.
- Contributions to open-source AI/ML or software engineering projects.
Why Join Us?
- Work on cutting-edge AI applications that impact engineering, urban planning, and beyond.
- Be part of a high-performing, collaborative team of AI, data, and software experts.
- Gain hands-on experience with the latest AI models, RAG frameworks, and multi-modal AI.
