Design Coordinator (Planning & Scheduling) Building Projects

A1 Main Contractor with a strong portfolio in public and private building developments is seeking an experienced Design & Planning Coordinator to oversee project planning, design coordination, scheduling, and progress control across major building projects.
The successful candidate will ensure design milestones are integrated with construction schedules, driving timely, cost-efficient, and high-quality project delivery aligned with client and stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation, coordination, and monitoring of project master programmes from tender to completion.
Develop detailed construction schedules, design deliverables schedules, resource plans, and progress-tracking systems using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
Coordinate with design consultants, internal design teams, and technical departments to ensure design milestones are met and aligned with construction timelines.
Collaborate closely with Project Directors, Project Managers, and site teams to align design deliverables with site execution plans and overall project schedules.
Analyse project and design progress, identify risks or delays, and propose proactive mitigation strategies.
Monitor subcontractors’ and suppliers’ schedules—including technical submissions and shop drawings—to ensure synchronization with the main programme.
Support tender planning activities, including time–cost analysis, construction sequencing, design methodology, and scheduling.
Prepare and present progress reports, schedule forecasts, and design status updates for management and client review.
Lead and mentor junior planning engineers or coordinators to ensure planning discipline and consistency across multiple projects.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project planning within a main contractor environment.
Proven track record in building projects, with experience coordinating design and construction planning.
Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, design deliverables workflow, resource planning, and project risk management.
